HouseWard Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of HouseWard, a home-maintenance organization service operated by Bo Mayr, operating as HouseWard ("HouseWard," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, or using HouseWard, you agree to these Terms.

1. What HouseWard does

HouseWard helps homeowners organize recurring maintenance tasks, due dates, completion history, home-system information, reminders, and related records.

2. Safety and professional services

Maintenance guidance in HouseWard is general information only. Conditions vary by home, equipment, location, installation, and manufacturer. Do not rely on HouseWard to diagnose equipment failures or determine whether a condition is safe.

For electrical, gas, structural, fire, roof-access, pressurized-system, active-leak, carbon-monoxide, dangerous-tool, or other potentially hazardous work, stop and use appropriate qualified professionals and follow manufacturer instructions and local requirements. If there is an emergency or immediate threat to people or property, contact the appropriate emergency service or qualified professional rather than relying on HouseWard.

3. Accounts and acceptable use

You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account except where applicable law provides otherwise. HouseWard is intended for adults.

You may use HouseWard only for lawful purposes. You may not interfere with the service, attempt unauthorized access, abuse automated systems, introduce malicious code, use the service to harm others, or reverse engineer protected portions of the service except where law expressly permits it.

4. Subscriptions and automatic renewal

HouseWard currently offers a monthly membership for $14.99 per month and an annual membership for $119 per year. The price and billing cadence displayed immediately before checkout control if they differ from this page.

If HouseWard changes pricing for a future renewal, we will provide any notice required by applicable law before the new price takes effect.

5. Cancellation

You may cancel online through HouseWard's Stripe Customer Portal. Cancellation is scheduled for the end of the then-current paid billing period, so you keep access through that period unless otherwise stated at the time of cancellation. Deleting or abandoning your HouseWard account does not by itself cancel recurring billing.

6. Refunds

You may request a refund of your initial HouseWard subscription charge within 14 days of that charge by emailing HouseWard.AI@gmail.com. Renewal charges are generally non-refundable except where required by law or when HouseWard determines a refund is appropriate for a duplicate charge, material service failure, or similar customer-care reason.

If a subscription charge is refunded, HouseWard may end the associated paid access when the refund is processed. Nothing in this section limits any refund or cancellation right that cannot legally be waived.

7. Trials and promotions

HouseWard does not currently promise a public free trial. If we later offer a trial, discount, coupon, or promotion, the specific terms shown with that offer will apply.

8. Home records and user content

You retain ownership of information and notes you submit to HouseWard. You grant HouseWard the limited rights needed to host, process, organize, back up, display, and transmit that information to provide, secure, and improve the service. Do not upload content you do not have the right to use or content that is unlawful or malicious.

9. AI features

HouseWard may use artificial intelligence for support, product operations, or other clearly presented features. AI-generated responses can be incomplete or incorrect. Safety-critical home-maintenance information should be verified against manufacturer documentation and qualified professional advice.

10. Service changes and availability

HouseWard is an early-stage product and may add, remove, or change features. We may perform maintenance or experience outages and do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. If a material change affects an already-paid service, we will handle it in accordance with applicable law and commitments made at purchase.

11. Intellectual property

HouseWard's software, branding, interface, original content, and related intellectual property are owned by HouseWard or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer ownership of HouseWard intellectual property to you.

12. Third-party services

HouseWard relies on third-party services for payment processing, hosting, authentication, email, analytics, and AI functionality. Third-party functionality may also be subject to the provider's applicable terms and privacy practices.

13. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HouseWard is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HouseWard and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from use of the service, including losses resulting from reliance on generalized maintenance information. This limitation does not apply where liability cannot legally be limited or excluded.

15. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect the service, users, or others; respond to unlawful or abusive conduct; comply with law; or address material violations of these Terms. You may stop using HouseWard at any time, but ending use does not itself cancel a paid subscription.

16. Privacy

Our Privacy Notice explains how personal information is collected and processed and is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as HouseWard changes. If a change materially affects your rights or an existing paid subscription, we will provide notice as required by applicable law. The effective date at the top identifies the current version.

18. Disputes and applicable law

These Terms do not require mandatory arbitration and do not include a class-action waiver. Any dispute may be brought in a court or forum with jurisdiction under applicable law. Nothing in these Terms waives rights or remedies that applicable consumer law does not allow you to waive.
